SPRING HALL HOBBY HORSE COMPETITION including CROSS COUNTRY CLASSES!!
Please come and join us on 17th May 2025 for another fun family day of hobby horsing around with your fellow hobby horse enthusiasts in a friendly and encouraging environment
We have lots of classes to suit all ages and abilities.
Pre booking of classes is essential – although extra classes maybe added on the day depending on numbers.
Classes booked on the day will be charged at full price, with no 3rd class discounts which is applied to pre entries
Bring your own hobby horse or you can loan one of ours
The show will (weather depending!) be run in our outdoor cross country field with our jumps with special lightweight hobby horse poles. We have special cross country classes which will include our banks, gate, ditch coffin and sandpit!!
We will have refreshments provided by Galloping Gourmet Foods
No dogs please – unless assistance dogs
Plenty of parking
No refunds will be given unless we cancel due to unforeseen circumstances. However if the weather is looking grim - will we move into the Indoor School and adapt the classes accordingly

Class 1 - 20cm
Class 2 - 30cm
Class 3 - 40cm
Class 4 - 40cm Pairs
Class 5 - 50cm
Class 6 - 60cm
Class 7 - 70cm
Class 8 - Chase Me Charlie
Lunch
Class 9 - Freestyle Dressage
Class 10 – Cross Country Clear Round - singles or as pairs
Class 11 - Timed Cross Country
Class 12 – Grand National
Check in is from 9.30am in our Cross Country Field – come and sign in, say Hello, and be issued with your number
Then head over to the practice ring to warm up
Classes aim to start from 10am, with lunch between classes 8 and 9
I'll email after entries close (6pm) on 16.5.25 with further information and probable timings etc
Class Information:
Classes 1-7 will be run as clear rounds first – and if you go clear – you go into a timed jump off (all will be explained on the day!)
Class 1 will be split into age groups for placing rosettes – 7 and unders, 8 and overs
Class 8 – Chase Me Charlie – a single jump which keeps getting higher . . . . . - split into 8 and unders and 9 and overs
Class 9 - Freestyle Dressage within our 7 x 14 metre area. Freestyle to music of your choice, lasting up to 2 minutes, and including 2 circles and a change of rein.
Class 10 - Cross Country clear round jumping - £10 per round. On your own or as a pair. Not timed. Jumps approx 30-40cm high. You can enter this more than once if you wish
Class 11 - Timed Cross Country - Fastest clear round wins
Class 12 – The Grand National – A race across a mix of our jumps and the cross country course. Limited to 4 children per race – Jumps approx 30-40cm high

Classes 1 - 7 and 11 - Rosettes for 1st -> 10th and Well Done rosettes for al
Classes 8 and 12 - Medals for 1st -> 4th, and Well Done rosettes for all
Class 9 - Rosettes and Certificates for participating
Class 10 - Clear round rosettes
Classes against the clock will be run with a digital timer that is viewable to avoid any disagreements and give every competitor the same chance.
Free to spectate
£10 per round, with discount for multiple rounds - every 3rd round half price when pre-entering! Classes booked on the day will be charged at full price, with no 3rd class discounts which is applied to pre entries
For the pairs it’s £10 per child
Loan of a hobby horse - £5 – limited number available

Feel free to bring a chair/picnic blanket to sit on!
