Charlie Hutton clinic at Sally Walker Dressage - TS9 7AN
Charlie has enjoyed a successful international riding career, competing through to International Grand Prix level with achievements including eight international wins, six national titles, Team Gold and Individual Silver at the Youth Olympics, selection for five consecutive Junior and Young Rider European Championship teams, and qualification for the Young Rider World Cup.
Today, Charlie works with riders across every level and discipline, from Pony Club to International Grand Prix athletes. Alongside his own riding career, he coaches riders competing at the very highest level, including five-star event riders and Paralympians.
At the heart of Charlie’s coaching is a simple philosophy: success should be built to last. Shortcuts have no place in good horsemanship, and every training decision should support the horse’s long-term physical and mental wellbeing. His approach is horse-centred, welfare-led and grounded in modern science, combining an understanding of equine behaviour, physiology and learning to help every horse perform confidently and sustainably.
Having worked with the British World Class Programme for over a decade, Charlie takes a truly holistic approach to performance. Success in the arena is achieved long before entering at A, which is why every aspect of horse and rider preparation is considered. From rider balance, symmetry and biomechanics to gait analysis, functional movement and correct training foundations, Charlie’s aim is to develop happy, confident partnerships capable of reaching their full potential - whether that means enjoying riding more at home or competing successfully on the international stage.
