31/10/2026 Polework Clinic with Faye Malkie
Find out more ..

We are delighted to be holding a showing clinic with renowned breeder, producer and judge, Mr Richard Grace.
Not only has Richard been a successful breeder and producer of HOYS horses and ponies, Richard sits on several of the major UK judging panels, including BSPS, BSHA, CHAPS and TSR. He has judged at many prestigious shows including HOYS and RIHS qualifiers. He is highly sought after as a conformation and in-hand judge, as well as being a Grader and Young Stock evaluator.
In the In-hand and ridden sessions, Richard will cover etiquette and ring craft as well as providing coaching on the go round, your individual show and how best to present your horse to the judge to gain top marks. He will also happily answer any questions you may have on turnout or any other aspect of attending a championship show such as STARS.
We will also be running a slightly different session for people to spectate only (rather than bring their own horse) where Richard will look at 3 different pony / horse types and explain how as a judge he assesses a horse’s confirmation, their strengths and weaknesses, tips on how to improve the weaknesses and also how to stand a horse up to show it off to look it’s best.
The in-hand session is 45 minutes, and the ridden and confirmation sessions are each 1 hour long
