Sam started her obsession with horses at the tender age of 5 years old, coming from a non horsey background it was a local riding school that she dragged her grandad to, from there the journey commenced to fufill her dreams!
Over the years she has worked her way up from loaning ponies to eventually getting her own horse at the age of 15.
She successfully enjoyed showjumping and eventing before going on to work at professional showjumping and dressage Yard’s, to attain her professional qualifications as an equine professional, before progressing to be a freelance trainer and rider for 8years.
Then the opportunity to own her own yard followed and with the help of her supportive equine husband they now have a sucsessful and very busy livery/training yard in West Yorkshire.
Sams own horses are competing successfully at national level: Cool Hand Luke, whom Sam has owned since a 2-year-old, is competing at Advanced Medium and will shortly contest PSG in 2020.
Her young horse Sylvester competes successfully in national age classes and is just a 5-year-old.
Sam has always trained with high level trainers, absorbing their knowledge to pass on to her clients, and is currently working under the knowledgeable eyes of world champion Sophie Wells.
Sam is a friendly, approachable, fun trainer who has a compassionate approach to training both horses and riders. She’s always encouraging and patient and takes great pride in all her clients achievements.
Sam is a self-motivated individual, who constantly trains to improve both her own and client knowledge. Using intuitive ways to improve riders position,feel and balance.
£40 private 45 min Session
