SPRING HALL HOBBY HORSE COMPETITION
Please come and join us on Saturday 15th March 2025 for a fun family day of hobby horsing around with your fellow hobby horse enthusiasts in a friendly and encouraging environment
We have lots of classes to suit all ages and abilities.
Pre booking of classes is essential - due to the weather still being cold/wet we will be in our indoor school so numbers will be limited (although extra classes maybe added on the day depending on numbers)
Classes booked on the day will be charged at full price, with no 3rd class discounts which is applied to pre entries
Bring your own hobby horse or you can loan one of ours
Galloping Gourmet Foods will be back with their fantastic range of hot food, delicious treats and variety of drinks
Pony Creative will also be back with their fantastic books, posters etc
We will also have Rock Star Rocking Horse Bridle Charms and Crochet your own pony packs
Parking on hard standing
No dogs please – unless assistance dogs
No refunds will be given unless we cancel due to unforeseen circumstances

Schedule:
Class 1 - 20cm
Class 2 - 30cm
Class 3 - 40cm
Class 4 - 40cm pairs
Class 5 - 50cm
Class 6 - 60cm
Class 7 - 70cm
Class 8 - Chase Me Charlie
Class 9 – Gymkhana - Beanie Bending Race
Class 10 – Gymkhana - Mug Race
Class 11 - Grand National
Check in is from 9.30am – come and sign in, say Hello, and be issued with your number
Then head over to the practice ring to warm up
Classes aim to start from 10am
I'll email after entries close on 14th March with further information and probable timings etc
Class Information:
Classes 1-7 will be run as clear rounds first – and if you go clear – you go into a timed jump off (all will be explained on the day!)
20cm is split into age groups - 7 and under, 8 and over
Class 8 – Chase Me Charlie – a single jump which keeps getting higher . . . . . This will be split into age groups - 8 and under and 9 and over
Classes 9 and 10 – Gymkhana – No jumping involved. Max 4 per race.
2 types - Mug race and Beanie Bending Race
Gymkhana Beanie Bending Race
Pick up a beanie - bend through the poles and throw the beanie in the bucket. Race back and grab another beanie and repeat. Repeat until all beanies are in the bucket
Winner is first one back at the start with all beanies in the bucket
Gymkhana - Mug Race
Grab a mug and put it on the first pole. Then run back - grab another mug and put it on the second pole. Continue it do this until theres a mug on every pole
Winner is the first one back at the start with mugs on all their poles
The gymkhana classes are fun classes - so they are perfect for all abilities and children who want to run around on their hobby horses having fun
Class 11 – The Grand National – A race across our jumps. Limited to 4 children per race – smaller numbers for older competitive children! (depending on numbers this may involve heats etc)
Prizes -
Classes 1 - 7 - Rosettes for 1st -> 6th and Well Done rosettes for all
Classes 8 - 11- Medals for 1st -> 4th, and Well Done rosettes for all
Classes against the clock will be run with a digital timer that is viewable to avoid any disagreements and give every competitor the same chance.
Free to spectate
£10 per round, with discount for multiple rounds - every 3rd round half price when pre-entering!
For the pairs it’s £10 per child
Loan of a hobby horse - £5 – limited number available
