The is suitable for any Pony Club member who is competent in open spaces and with riding at pace.
All riders must wear the correct standard body protector, hat and boots.
Special racing tack is not necessarily, but we ask all ponies have a neck strap and the children's stirrups have enough holes to be put up quite short.
Please bring an overgirth if you have one.
The afternoon will start with an unmounted session. The children will take part in fun fitness and balance exercises and have the opportunity to work on their position on the equiciser and learn to bridge their reins.
The children with then ride their ponies in a group to assess their suitability for riding in pairs up the gallops.
Following the training session in groups the children and their ponies will have the opportunity to ride up the gallops.
