Join us for a unique educational opportunity with Ian Smeeth, a renowned BHS Accredited Coach and FHBC Senior Level 4 Bitting Clinician.

With over 25 years of experience competing and officiating at major championships both in the UK and internationally, Ian brings a wealth of expertise to help you and your horse excel. His sessions are designed to create a harmonious partnership through a combination of correct flatwork and welfare-focused bitting solutions. 

Whether you're looking to troubleshoot a specific bitting issue or want to polish your performance for the show ring, Ian’s extensive knowledge offers invaluable insight for riders of all levels.

This clinic is designed to be the ideal start to your competition season. These sessions are perfect for riders of all levels and provide excellent experience for young horses in a professional, supportive environment.

Session Options & Pricing

• Group Flatwork/Showing Clinic:
  • Maximum of 4 riders per group.
  • £50 per person.
  • Focusing on presentation, technique, and ringcraft.
• Private Lessons:
  • 30-minute intensive individual session.
  • £50 per session.
  • Tailored specifically to your riding objectives and horse s needs.
• Individual Bitting Consultations:
  • 1-to-1 basis.
  • £65 per session.
  • Note: Bitting session costs do not include any equipment purchases.

Entries close on the Thursday before the event and times will be published on the Friday before the event. 

Cancellation Policy: Withdrawals made prior to entries closing will be refunded. No entry fees will be refunded after entries have closed unless the event is cancelled by Appleton Grange.
