SPRING HALL HOBBY HORSE HALLOWEEN COMPETITION including Showjumping, Chase Me Charlie, Gymkhana and the return of the Grand National
Please come and join us on Saturday 24h October 2026 for another fun family day of hobby horsing around with your fellow hobby horse enthusiasts in a friendly and encouraging environment - this time with a halloween twist!
We have lots of classes to suit all ages and abilities.
Pre booking of classes is essential - due to the weather getting colder we will be back in our indoor school so numbers will be limited (although extra classes maybe added on the day depending on numbers)
Classes booked on the day will be charged at full price, with no 3rd class discounts which is applied to pre entries
Bring your own hobby horse or you can loan one of ours
No dogs please – unless assistance dogs
Plenty of parking - on hard standing
No refunds will be given unless we cancel due to unforeseen circumstances

Class 1 - Halloween Fancy Dress (will be judged at 10am) - Kindly sponsored by Pony Creative - FREE to enter
Class 2 - 20cm
Class 3 - 30cm
Class 4 - 40cm
Class 5 - 40cm pairs
Class 6 - 50cm
Class 7 - 60cm
Class 8 - 70cm
Class 9 - 80cm
Class 10 - Chase Me Charlie
LUNCH
Class 11 – Gymkhana - with a Halloween twist
Class 12 – Grand National
Class 2 will be split into age groups for placing rosettes – 7 and unders, 8 and overs
Class 10 will be split into age groups - 9 and unders, 10 and overs
Check in is from 9.30am – come and sign in, say Hello, and be issued with your number
Then head over to the practice ring to warm up
Classes aim to start from 10am
Classes against the clock will be run with a digital timer that is viewable to avoid any disagreements and give every competitor the same chance.

Class Information:
Class 1 - Halloween Fancy Dress - Dress up in your best halloween costume - will be judged at 10am. Kindly sponsored by Pony Creative. This class is FREE to enter. Please email springhallhobbyhorses@gmail.com to enter this class
Even if you don t enter the fancy dress class - feel free to dress up!
Classes 2 - 9 will be run as clear rounds first – and if you go clear – you go into a timed jump off (all will be explained on the day!)
Class 10 – Chase Me Charlie – a single jump which keeps getting higher . . . . . Will be spilt into 9 and under and 10 and over
Class 11 - Gymkhana - no jumping
A - Beanie race
B - Egg and Spoon
Class 12 – The Grand National – A race across our show jumps. Limited to 4 children per race. Jumps approx 30cm high

Class 1 - Rosette for the winner, sweets for all
Classes 2 - 9 - Special Halloween Rosettes 1st - 10th, Well Done Halloween Rosettes for all
Classes 10 and 12 - Special Halloween Medals 1st - 4th, Well Done Halloween Rosettes for all
Class 11 - Halloween Gymkhana Rosettes
Free to spectate
£10 per round, with discount for multiple rounds - every 3rd round half price when pre-entering! Classes booked on the day will be charged at full price, with no 3rd class discounts which is applied to pre entries
For the pairs it’s £10 per child
Loan of a hobby horse - £5 – limited number available
