in the park at Thorp Perrow, Bedale, where the following points will be discussed.
• The Hacking Challenge – what it is and how to sign up and start
achieving your distance certificates.
• What is Endurance: Distances, Speed, Scoring.
• What type of horse/pony do you need.
• What equipment/tack do you need.
• Reading a map.
• Heart rates and Speed.
• Keeping your horse hydrated. Cooling down after the ride.
Followed by a short Endurance ride of approx 10km where your new knowledge can be put into operation.
All members 11yrs or under must be accompanied by an adult (18yrs or older) on a horse or bike (or on foot if you can complete the route at 10km per hour.) With a limit of 4 children to one aduit.
